Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and maintain scalable, high-performance web services using Java
- Partner with front-end developers to connect web services smoothly with web applications
- Build RESTful APIs to support seamless communication between client-side and server-side applications
- Apply best practices and standards to keep services reliable, resilient, and secure
- Tune services for scalability and speed, including caching, load balancing, and database optimization
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and QA engineers to deliver quality software solutions
- Review code, offer constructive feedback, and ensure alignment with coding standards
- Keep current with new Java and web services technologies and patterns
Requirements
- Professional IT background of 5+ years with at least 5+ years of strong Java proficiency
- Strong knowledge of building web services, including RESTful APIs
- Hands-on experience using Spring Boot to build and deploy web services
- Solid background in security best practices, including Spring Security and JWT for authentication and authorization
- Practical experience with SQL queries and stored procedures, as well as Hibernate for ORM-based database access
- Working ability with Linux commands in development environments
- Thorough understanding of web security concepts and best practices
- Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git and ADO
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (Sprint board, PR, Jenkins, Docker & Kubernetes, etc.)
- Exposure to Swing, AWT, JavaFX, and Java Desktop Applications
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work productively in a collaborative team setting
- English level Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of Angular
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Background in Agile development methodologies, with certification in Java programming or related technologies
