We're seeking a capable and self-motivated Senior Software Engineer with a specialization in Java and Azure, ready to make an impact on our forward-thinking initiatives. The right candidate will take full ownership of delivering dependable, scalable backend systems while partnering across teams to meet business goals within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Responsibilities
- Examine user needs to shape the direction of application design
- Set application objectives that stay closely tied to overarching business goals
- Diagnose production-related problems and carry out root cause investigations
- Build and test software solutions that meet high-quality, industry-aligned standards
- Keep JIRA updated consistently with progress reports and task statuses
- Work through and resolve intricate technical challenges with sound debugging skills
- Build and deploy scalable Java-based applications and microservices
- Generate detailed design documentation to support both teams and stakeholders
- Suggest ways to improve applications and promote sound development practices
- Investigate emerging technologies and trends to expand skills and strengthen solutions
- Handle release processes efficiently from start to finish
Requirements
- Between 5 and 8 years of direct experience with Java, Spring, and Golang for building multithreaded applications
- Skilled in developing and integrating APIs using REST/SOAP, Thrift, and gRPC for binary payload handling
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns spanning both core and enterprise contexts
- A minimum of 3 years spent building and operating microservices and distributed systems at substantial scale
- Strong background in resiliency approaches such as throttling, circuit breaking, and bulkheading, along with CPU/memory profiling and error handling
- Capability using monitoring and alerting tools like Grafana, Kibana, and Prometheus, with added exposure to Splunk and Graphite for dashboard and log-based troubleshooting
- Background with version control systems such as GIT, including familiarity with monorepo structures
- Strong communication skills combined with a demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams, backed by excellent English proficiency
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Java resource optimization, memory management, and caching frameworks
- Skilled at troubleshooting production issues, including thorough root cause analysis
- Knowledge of Java multithreading, microservices architecture, and associated design patterns
- Working knowledge of tools and processes such as Maven, Jenkins, and GitLab/GitHub
- Understanding of security fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, and SSL, along with web service proxies and secure token exchange methods
