We are seeking a Senior Functional Consultant - SAP HANA to lead and deliver high-impact SAP HANA projects, bridging technical and business teams to drive robust data solutions and analytics across enterprise systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of SAP HANA developers and analysts, providing strategic direction and technical oversight
- Manage and coordinate activities with Product Owners, Business Users and stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize tasks
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users, translating business needs into actionable technical solutions
- Foster collaboration and communication within the team through regular meetings and proactive issue resolution
- Ensure team adherence to project timelines, performance standards and organizational goals
- Leverage core SAP HANA technologies such as calculation views, procedures and table functions to develop robust data models
- Employ advanced techniques including hierarchies, time-dependent models, currency conversion and input-ready models to enhance modeling capabilities
- Optimize HANA database performance by analyzing, troubleshooting and adjusting SQL procedures, queries, views and indexes
- Build new data integrations from sources like SAP BW, Salesforce, GA4, IoT and Azure Blob using SAP Data Services, Alteryx or Python into SAP HANA
- Expose data in SAP HANA to external platforms including websites via OData, SFTP folders and writing data back to Salesforce
- Perform impact assessments for new developments and changes in SAP ERP (FI/CO, SD, MM, PS)
- Create and manage SAP views to support reporting and analytics requirements
- Perform SAP BW troubleshooting and impact assessments on SAP BW objects when changes are introduced in related systems
- Manage virtual connections and integrations between SAP HANA and BW
- Develop and enable reporting solutions in SAP Analysis for Office and Power BI
- Support Data Science initiatives by providing data to data scientists
- Develop and integrate complex ETL/ELT workflows in HANA using SAP Data Services and Alteryx
- Set up and manage HANA to BW virtual connections for real-time data provisioning and federated reporting
- Monitor and support issues encountered in data integrations pipeline
Requirements
- 5–8 years of working experience in SAP HANA, SAP ERP and SAP BW
- Knowledge of SAP HANA modeling including calculation views, attribute views and analytic views
- Background in SAP ERP core business processes such as finance, sales and distribution, materials management and project systems
- Skills in SAP Data Services, Alteryx and Python for data integration
- Expertise in SAP Analysis for Office and Power BI for analytics enablement
- Proficiency in developing and integrating ETL/ELT workflows in HANA
- Competency in troubleshooting SAP BW and managing virtual connections between SAP HANA and BW
- Understanding of advanced SAP HANA modeling techniques including hierarchies, time-dependent models and currency conversion
- Familiarity with exposing SAP HANA data to external platforms via OData and SFTP
- Capability to perform impact assessments for SAP ERP and SAP BW changes
- Qualifications in optimizing HANA database performance through SQL procedures, queries and indexes
