Find me a jobWe are hiring a VMware Architect to design automation, self-service provisioning, and IaC patterns across a VMware estate and Azure VMware Solution (AVS). You will partner with network architecture, define DR and mobility automation, and guide implementation and validation—apply to help shape resilient hybrid infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Architect the automation and self-service provisioning model for the VMware estate, including vSphere provisioning, placement modules, and post-provisioning handoff
- Design Infrastructure as Code modules for VMware DRS and vSAN, including rules, resource pools, storage policies, and cluster configuration
- Architect VMware SRM and VMware HCX patterns to support disaster recovery and workload mobility automation
- Define the integration pattern between VMware infrastructure and Azure VMware Solution (AVS), ensuring consistent identity and RBAC across hybrid environments
- Collaborate with the Network Architect on NSX-T segments, distributed firewall rules, and load balancing/NAT with VMware placement and compute context
- Establish testing and validation approaches for environment-dependent VMware test cycles, including harnesses for repeatable validation
- Provide architectural oversight during implementation for priority VMware modules, and support production validation and adoption
Requirements
- Proven VMware architecture experience across vSphere, vSAN, SRM, and HCX (2+ years) in enterprise or service-provider environments
- Demonstrated Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform/OpenTofu and Configuration as Code with Ansible (2+ years), including dynamic inventory integration
- Hands-on Azure VMware Solution (AVS) experience and hybrid cloud connectivity pattern knowledge (2+ years)
- Strong stakeholder leadership skills to collaborate with the Network Architect on NSX-T segmentation and distributed firewall (DFW) concepts
- Solid project ownership skills to drive architecture through implementation, production validation, pilot onboarding, and module lifecycle ownership
- Strong disaster-recovery automation skills for protection groups, recovery plans, and failover testing approach design
- Strong English skills (CEFR B2 Upper-Intermediate) for clear technical communication with teams and clients

- Familiarity with certificate and secrets integration for VMware workloads (Venafi, Key Vault/OpenBao)
- Knowledge of Windows guest customization (cloudbase-init) and Linux cloud-init patterns within VMware environments
- Experience with change-control processes for network and security modifications in regulated or critical-infrastructure environments
- Exposure to GenAI-assisted IaC or module development practices to accelerate Terraform or Ansible authoring
