We are looking for a UI-focused Unreal Engine Developer to build and maintain player-facing interfaces for a cross-platform live product, integrating runtime UI with gameplay systems and online data while meeting strict performance goals. You will collaborate closely with design and UI art to deliver reliable, scalable UI experiences.
Responsibilities
- Implement UI screens, flows, and reusable components in Unreal Engine for menus, HUDs, overlays, modals, and lists
- Own end-to-end UI behavior including navigation, focus management, state transitions, and error handling
- Integrate UI with asynchronous data sources such as client services, player data, inventory-like data, and remote configuration
- Build resilient loading states and caching strategies to keep UI responsive under unreliable network conditions
- Collaborate with UI design and UI art to translate specifications into shippable, maintainable implementations
- Debug and optimize UI performance and stability across frame time, hitching, memory, and draw cost
- Establish and document UI best practices and patterns to improve consistency across the product
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience shipping UI in Unreal Engine using UMG (Widget Blueprints) and Blueprints
- Strong UI architecture knowledge covering separation of concerns, reusable components, and state management
- Hands-on experience building cross-platform UI navigation including focus-driven flows and back behavior
- Proven ability to profile and troubleshoot UI performance using Unreal Insights and in-engine debugging tools
- Professional teamwork experience with code reviews, ticket-based delivery, and collaborative workflows
- Version control proficiency with Perforce (preferred) or Git
- English proficiency at B2 Upper-Intermediate level for daily collaboration
Nice to have
- C++ in Unreal Engine to extend UI frameworks, create base classes, and improve performance-critical paths
- Familiarity with CommonUI/CommonInput for cross-platform input and navigation patterns
- Experience with Slate for custom widgets and advanced UI behavior
- Live-service product experience including rapid iteration, hotfix mindset, and feature flags or remote config patterns
- Cross-discipline collaboration experience with backend or services teams
