We are seeking a remote Solution Architect with expertise in Sybase.

This role involves a significant focus on improving our database architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software design and development, with a particular emphasis on Sybase, to assist with modernizing our legacy systems. Responsibilities
  • Analyze, document, and evaluate the current database architecture and infrastructure
  • Provide recommendations for best practices and technical approaches to modernize legacy database systems
  • Lead efforts on upgrades, re-architecture, infrastructure updates, schema design, and data modeling
  • Manage processes related to data migration and real-time replication
  • Collaborate with team members to drive database design projects
  • Perform performance testing and optimization to enhance database efficiency
  • Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks through root cause analysis
Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in software design and development
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a Sybase production Database Administrator
  • 2 or more years of leadership experience in relevant roles
  • Expertise in database architecture and configuration
  • Understanding of common database design and development principles
  • Knowledge of very large databases and data warehousing concepts
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) at a B2 level
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, and Azure
