We are seeking a Java Backend Developer in Singapore. You will build microservices and event-driven services with Kafka, deploy to Microsoft Azure and design reliable PostgreSQL data models. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ship secure, scalable APIs, improve performance and keep production stable through strong engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and build back-end services in Java using microservices patterns
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations
- Implement event streaming and messaging using Apache Kafka
- Build, deploy and tune cloud-native workloads on Microsoft Azure
- Design PostgreSQL schemas, queries and performance optimizations
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing and release activities
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause fixes
- Create and maintain technical documentation for services and APIs
Requirements
- Java back-end development experience and clean coding practices
- Microservices architecture knowledge including service-to-service communication
- RESTful APIs design experience including versioning and reliability considerations
- Microsoft Azure experience deploying and operating applications
- Apache Kafka experience for messaging, streaming or event-driven design
- PostgreSQL skills in schema design, query writing and tuning
- Problem-solving ability in development and production environments
- Clear communication and teamwork across engineering and product partners
Nice to have
- Spring Boot and Spring framework experience
- Containerization and orchestration exposure (for example Kubernetes)
- Observability tooling experience (logging, metrics, tracing)
