Senior Vulnerability Management Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Vulnerability Management Engineer to play a critical role within the Security Operations team.
This position will focus on leading our vulnerability management efforts, ensuring the continuous identification, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities across our diverse technology landscape. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and contributing to broader Security Operations functions, including detection, response, and security tooling.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage efforts for identifying, assessing, and remediating vulnerabilities across systems and environments
- Work daily with tools such as Prisma, Rapid7, and Defender to ensure effective vulnerability scanning and reporting
- Operate and maintain scanning tools and cloud-native controls to continuously monitor the security posture
- Partner with IT, network operations, application development, and compliance teams to ensure timely vulnerability resolution
- Provide expert-level advice on applying security patches, configurations, and mitigations for critical vulnerabilities
- Perform regular assessments, recommending corrective actions to close security gaps
- Stay informed on emerging threats by analyzing advisories, threat intelligence, and vulnerability feeds
- Ensure policies, procedures, and records for the vulnerability management program align with industry best practices
- Report metrics, trends, and risk analysis related to vulnerabilities to senior leadership
- Take a leading role in responding rapidly to vulnerabilities or potential exploitation incidents
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in vulnerability management, information security, or a related discipline, with 5+ years in IT overall
- Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools such as Prisma, Rapid7, Defender, Contrast, AWS Inspector, or Wiz
- Expertise in frameworks, tools, and best practices for vulnerability management
- Background in analyzing complex security issues and effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Capability to manage multiple initiatives, demonstrate analytical thinking, and deliver results under pressure
- Degree in cybersecurity or a related field, complemented by industry certifications or equivalent experience
