We are looking for a Senior UI Technical Designer to help deliver polished, in-engine UI for a AAA fighting game built in Unreal Engine 5. You will bridge UX, art, design, and engineering to turn flows, visual designs, and interaction concepts into scalable UI experiences. Apply to help shape the UI as the project moves into production.
Responsibilities
- Implement UI screens, flows, widgets, animations, and interaction behaviors in Unreal Engine 5
- Translate UX flows, wireframes, Figma designs, HTML prototypes, and documentation into in-engine UI
- Partner with UI Engineers to build scalable, reusable, and technically sound UI structures
- Collaborate with UI Artists to integrate assets accurately and polish presentation in-engine
- Prototype and refine frontend and in-match UI experiences through rapid iteration
- Build and maintain UI prefabs, widgets, layouts, animation states, and interaction prototypes
- Create expressive and functional UI motion using UMG, Sequencer, materials, and Blueprint-driven workflows
- Support 2D UI implementation, including 3D-anchored 2D-rendered gameplay UI elements when needed
- Validate UI across mobile-centric and multi-platform experiences
- Coordinate with sound and VFX teams to align UI feedback, celebratory moments, and effects with game style
- Document implementation details, interaction rules, edge cases, and dependencies to support production handoff
- Contribute to seasonal updates, publishing tasks, and live-service UI iteration
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience implementing game UI in Unreal Engine
- Hands-on experience with UMG and Blueprint-based UI workflows
- Strong ability to translate UX flows and visual direction into functional in-engine UI
- Solid understanding of layout, interaction design, UI motion, animation timing, and responsive behavior
- Prototyping experience creating in-engine UI screens that are production-ready
- Figma workflow familiarity for interpreting and implementing designs
- Cross-functional communication skills to collaborate with UX, art, engineering, design, production, VFX, and sound
- Adaptability and iteration speed in changing creative and technical environments
- Multi-platform UI knowledge with emphasis on mobile-centric constraints and interaction patterns
- Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
Nice to have
- Experience with UE5 CommonUI
- Experience on AAA, live-service, fighting, action, multiplayer, or competitive games
- Experience with HTML prototypes or hybrid design-to-engine prototyping workflows
- Experience implementing UI animations using Sequencer and materials
- Familiarity with approved AI-assisted tools for prototyping, documentation, or production acceleration
