We're looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer (Python) to join our team in Nicosia, Cyprus in a hybrid working mode.
In this role, you will contribute to building automation frameworks for AI-Hub, a cloud-based SaaS platform designed to deliver advanced AI-driven capabilities via APIs and integrate with other digital products in the Life & Health insurance domain. You will focus on a manual-to-automation split of 30/70, driving robust automation while ensuring high-quality standards. This role provides the opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI tools, including agentic AI for optimized test processes and framework improvements.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for backend services (Python, REST) and frontend applications (Angular-based web UI)
- Develop and execute performance tests (load, stress and endurance) for API and web layers using Python-based tools
- Define comprehensive test scenarios from requirements, execute tests, manage defects, and maintain stable test suites across releases
- Leverage agentic AI and generative AI tools to enhance test automation efficiency and framework development
- Continuously analyze and evolve automation frameworks following best practices and emerging trends
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development, test automation, and related QA processes
- Advanced proficiency in Python and Pytest with proven automation framework design experience
- Experience in performance testing design and execution using tools like Locust or equivalents (k6, Gatling)
- Strong experience in API testing (REST) including data validation and end-to-end integration flows
- Hands-on experience in frontend automation using Playwright (Angular); familiarity with Selenium is an advantage
- Intermediate SQL or NoSQL skills for test data management and validation
- Experience using AI-powered development or testing tools in practical workflows
- Familiarity with Agile delivery environments and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a distributed team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with structured approach
Nice to have
- Experience configuring quality gates in CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or Jenkins)
- Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman or Bruno
- Knowledge of Selenium for cases where Playwright does not apply
- Domain knowledge of Life & Health insurance or underwriting processes
