We are seeking a talented Senior Software Test Automation Engineer with expertise in JavaScript to join our team. The engineer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive test automation frameworks and suites. With a focus on ensuring the highest quality and reliability of our software products, this role demands proficiency with modern testing tools such as Playwright and Cypress, and a strong background in automated testing and CI/CD integration.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a test automation strategy that supports project goals and timelines
- Identify application components that would benefit most from automation
- Utilize frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress for various types of testing including end-to-end, integration, and UI
- Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Use libraries like Axios or Got for API automation testing
- Incorporate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with the DevOps team for seamless integration
- Uphold quality standards and ensure all application features meet functional requirements before release
- Develop test plans in collaboration with developers and product managers
- Analyze and report on automated test results
- Review and enhance test coverage and optimization to increase efficiency
- Track and manage defects and provide detailed bug reports
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in automated testing utilizing JavaScript/TypeScript
- Strategic understanding of testing theory and quality metrics
- Proficiency with modern automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO
- Skills in web technologies with a strong capability for API testing using JS libraries like Axios or Got
- Practical experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Nice to have
- Knowledge of cloud-based services such as Amazon Web Services, Azure DevOps Services, Google Cloud Services
- Experience with performance testing
- Familiarity with AI tools to enhance process efficiency and daily routines
