We are seeking a passionate Senior Java Software Engineer with a strong focus on delivery to strengthen our Name and Media Screening engineering team. You will work in a highly collaborative environment with colleagues from globally diverse backgrounds and skill sets. Together, the team comes together to solve challenging problems as a team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications
- Drive continuous integration and improvements
- Act as an experienced Scrum Master, coach the pod in Scrum practices, facilitate effective ceremonies, and remove impediments to enable continuous improvement and predictable delivery
- Work closely with the rest of the pod to ensure delivery of a robust and sustainable solution meeting business requirements with consideration of user experience
- Ensure alignment to the organizational guidelines, principles, standards and processes
- Work closely with and advise Business Analysts, Testers and Management on all technical matters
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience developing Java applications
- Knowledge of Scrum, Agile and Lean principles, with evidence of applying them pragmatically rather than mechanically
- Showcase of success identifying, escalating and removing delivery impediments and dependencies
- Experience facilitating distributed, multicultural teams and coordinating dependencies across multiple teams or locations
- Skills in SQL databases, ideally Oracle
- Familiarity with a Linux-based server environment, including bash (shell) scripting
- Well-developed business communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience working as part of a global team
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Spring framework
- Experience working with MongoDB
- Familiarity with MS Azure Cloud platforms, Databricks and Denodo
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, such as Git, GitLab Pipelines, Nexus, Ansible and RPM packaging
