Find me a jobWe are seeking a Senior Back-end Engineer in Shanghai to build scalable services and APIs for enterprise platforms. You will design microservices, integrations and data workflows, guide technical decisions and improve reliability through clean code, testing and automation. This role is office-based with close collaboration across teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable Back-end services and APIs
- Build system integrations and data processing workflows to support business needs
- Design microservices and database solutions for reliability, security and performance
- Write clean, testable and maintainable code aligned to engineering best practices
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews and technical decision-making
- Troubleshoot incidents, optimize performance and improve service reliability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Create technical documentation and support deployment activities
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Python, Go, or Java using Spring Boot where relevant
- Experience delivering RESTful APIs and or gRPC services in production environments
- Understanding of microservices, distributed systems and service-to-service communication
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
- Familiarity with Linux, Git, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automated testing
- Knowledge of software design patterns, SOLID principles and Agile delivery practices
- Strong Problem-solving with the ability to debug complex issues across services
- Clear communication in English when partnering with cross-functional stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging tools such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, or Cassandra
