Find me a jobWe are seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our DevOps function and act as a critical interface with the Production Support team. This role is focused on production readiness, operational excellence, and reliability rather than feature delivery.
The SRE will ensure that systems going live meet defined operability, observability, and supportability standards, and that the Production Support team is fully equipped with the right tools, monitoring, metrics, alerting, and runbooks to operate services effectively.
The role will act as a 2nd/3rd line escalation point, working closely with project teams during delivery and with Operations during live service, helping to bridge the gap between development and production support.
- Define and enforce production readiness and go-live criteria for all services
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting are in place, that clear SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets are defined where appropriate, and that runbooks, dashboards, and operational documentation are complete
- Participate in go-live reviews and readiness sign-off
- Design and maintain monitoring and alerting standards using Datadog
- Ensure Production Support teams have actionable alerts with clear ownership and escalation paths, meaningful dashboards for system health, performance, and capacity, and access to logs, traces, and metrics required for incident diagnosis
- Continuously improve observability across platforms and services
- Act as 2nd or 3rd line support for production incidents, including investigation, root cause analysis, and remediation
- Drive post-incident reviews and ensure corrective actions are tracked and delivered
- Partner with Production Support to reduce MTTR and recurring issues
- Support services running on Kubernetes (EKS) and cloud-native platforms
- Identify reliability, performance, and scalability risks in production systems
- Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to improve resilience, automation, and fault tolerance, and promote best practices around high availability, capacity planning, and graceful degradation
- 3+ years of proven experience in an SRE, DevOps, or Production Support Engineering role
- Strong background in supporting production systems in a 24/7 environment
- Expertise in Datadog monitoring, alerting, and dashboards
- Hands-on proficiency in Kubernetes (preferably EKS) and Unix/Linux systems
- Skills in Java and Spring Boot applications
- Solid understanding of incident management, escalation, and root cause analysis
- Qualifications in defining and implementing production readiness and go-live standards
- Strong communication skills with the capability to work across engineering and operations teams
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
- Experience working closely with Production Support or Service Operations teams
- Knowledge of SRE practices such as SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
- Familiarity with API gateways (Kong) and identity platforms (Ping IDP)
- Understanding of on-call models and incident response processes
- Background in regulated or high-availability environments
