We are looking for a Senior Server-side Engineer to build and evolve a mobile service layer (Backend for Frontend) that powers high-traffic client experiences. You will collaborate with engineers, product partners, designers, and QA to deliver reliable APIs, optimize performance, and keep code quality high. Responsibilities
- Design backend-for-frontend APIs that support mobile client use cases
- Build Spring Boot services in Java with clean, maintainable architecture
- Implement REST endpoints with clear contracts and predictable behavior
- Optimize performance through profiling, tuning, and efficient data access
- Write unit tests to protect critical logic and enable safe changes
- Refactor legacy code to improve readability, safety, and extensibility
- Fix bugs through root-cause analysis and targeted remediation
- Integrate with existing backend services and adapt to evolving interfaces
- Implement asynchronous flows where needed to improve responsiveness
- Automate builds and checks within continuous integration pipelines
- Review code to uphold standards and share best practices
- Collaborate with product, design, and QA to deliver end-to-end features
Requirements
- 3+ years of Java experience building server-side applications
- Strong leadership skills to influence technical decisions and mentor peers
- Proven project delivery experience in large cross-functional teams
- Solid Spring Boot knowledge for building scalable services
- Strong REST API design skills for contract-first, maintainable endpoints
- Strong algorithms and data structures skills for solving complex problems
- Strong unit testing skills to ensure correctness and prevent regressions
- Hands-on CI experience with build and test automation
- Experience with asynchronous programming and concurrency concepts
- Performance optimization skills including profiling and tuning
- Strong refactoring skills and ability to work with legacy code safely
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, self-starting mindset
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)

- Docker experience for local development and deployment workflows
- Gradle experience for build configuration and dependency management
- GraphQL experience for flexible client-driven data fetching
- Kotlin experience for JVM-based backend development
- RAML experience for API modeling and documentation
