Responsibilities
- Build and expand APIs and backend services to support payment integrations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product owners, and designers
- Maintain a secure and scalable platform to incorporate new payment providers
- Develop new functionalities that enhance checkout customization
- Use Ruby, Scala, and PHP to deliver high-quality code
- Monitor application performance using tools such as Prometheus, Sentry, and Kibana
- Participate in code reviews and support team knowledge sharing
- Troubleshoot issues to ensure operational efficiency
- Adapt solutions to meet unique client checkout requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and collaboration
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Ruby development
- Experience working on payment systems or e-commerce platforms
- Background in building scalable APIs and backend services
- Proficiency in SQL and database management
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud environments
- Capability to work effectively in a remote-first, team-oriented setting
- Strong problem-solving skills focused on operational efficiency
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Sentry, and Kibana
- English proficiency at a professional working level
Nice to have
- Experience with Scala programming
- Knowledge of PHP version 8
- Understanding of ecommerce checkout flows and customization
