Senior Python Developer for a Nutrition Company
We're looking for a remote Senior Developer with 5+ years of industry experience developing large-scale web applications and in-depth knowledge of Python to join our team.
The customer aims to be the crop nutrition company for the future and is leading the development of sustainable agriculture and digital tools to contribute to solving global agricultural challenges. It has a worldwide presence with sales teams in 150 countries and around 17,000 employees. It will lead the transformation towards more sustainable and efficient food production, by innovating our offerings and the way we work. Crop and Digital Solutions is responsible developing and scaling new “on-farm” digital and integrated tools and solutions for an efficient and transparent food system.
- Work on the forefront of building digital products for agriculture
- Work on all levels of the stack from DevOps infrastructure to frontend web applications
- Anticipate future needs in product and stability
- Help us move to a service-oriented architecture/microservices model
- Maintain and improve upon existing product features
- Collaborate with others, help mentor junior developers, and share your knowledge with other teams
- 5+ years of industry experience developing large-scale web applications
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field strongly preferred
- AWS experience. In particular, we presently use: EC2, RDS, SQS, ECS, S3, and Route 53
- Indepth knowledge of Python, JavaScript (raw, plus jQuery/D3), and SQL
- Experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS
- Proven CS fundamentals and rigor in automated testing, code quality, and engineering best practices
- Comfortable working in different parts of the stack
- Comfortable working in a Unix shell most of the time
- Deep knowledge in either vim or emacs
- Experience building consumer-facing web applications
- Demonstrated communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills
