We are seeking a Senior Python Developer to become part of our dynamic Lisbon team.

The chosen person will be responsible for overseeing and administering the complete procedure of transferring data science codebases from one cloud platform to another. They will offer their technical expertise on libraries specific to the insurance industry while working in tandem with diverse teams to comprehend the unique needs and issues of the migration project. They will also pioneer the creation of most effective practices for data science workflows and model deployment.

This role mandates presence in our Lisbon office for two days each week.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing and conducting the complete migration of data science codebases from one cloud platform to another
  • Guiding and aiding data scientists globally in reworking and enhancing their Python code for the new cloud setting
  • Offering technical expertise on libraries specific to the insurance sector
  • Working closely with diverse teams to comprehend the unique needs and issues of the migration project
  • Pioneering the creation of most effective practices for data science workflows and model deployment
  • Identifying and rectifying issues related to library dependencies in the project
Requirements
  • A minimum of three years' experience in Python development
  • Comprehensive understanding of Algorithms & Data structures
  • Prior experience in the insurance sector or data science projects related to insurance
  • Familiarity with version control systems and cooperative development workflows
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Agile experience
  • Proven ability to rework and enhance code for performance in cloud settings
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
  • Capability to comprehend business needs and convert them into IT requirements
  • A proactive, pragmatic, curious, and autonomous approach
  • Team spirit and superior interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English language (B2+)
Nice to have
  • Proficiency in the French language (B2) would be advantageous
