We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the administration, governance, and automation of our Data Lake and AWS Databricks ecosystems. You will design solutions that streamline platform operations, ensure secure data access, and empower analytics and machine learning efforts across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and administer AWS Databricks and Data Lake environments
- Apply access management practices leveraging RBAC and Entra ID
- Leverage Databricks governance concepts, such as Unity Catalog, access control, and data lineage
- Develop automation scripts and REST API integrations for platform configuration and monitoring
- Monitor platform health, respond to incidents, and ensure operational reliability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align platform standards and support governance frameworks
- Troubleshoot platform issues while improving performance and efficiency
- Document platform processes and best practices
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud services, particularly AWS Databricks
- Proficiency in AWS access management, covering RBAC and Entra ID
- Knowledge of Databricks governance, especially Unity Catalog, including catalog/schema management, access control, and data lineage
- Expertise in Terraform for automated infrastructure deployment and management
- Skills in fundamental Python development for automation and scripting
- Familiarity with REST APIs for platform administration and configuration
- Understanding of DevOps principles, such as monitoring, observability, incident response, and operational health
- Background in enterprise environments, preferably within diverse and globally distributed organizations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- English proficiency at a B2 level or above
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)
- Competency in Databricks administration, covering workspace configuration, job orchestration, and cluster policies
- Showcase of contributions to shared platform standards, governance frameworks, or automation libraries
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools, including Terraform and ARM templates
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains
