Back to SearchWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our fully remote Engineering team.
You will collaborate with a cross-functional group to deliver and scale the core infrastructure and services that power a high-performance, data-driven SaaS platform. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging backend projects and contribute to the evolution of robust, scalable systems.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the architecture, design, and development of scalable and highly available backend applications and services
- Solve complex infrastructure challenges through code and provide post-release support for deployed applications
- Identify opportunities to enhance DevOps practices and tooling, using automation to improve the CI/CD pipeline and streamline development and deployment
- Present technology design options and architectural solutions to product owners and engineering leadership
- Conduct post-mortem analyses to identify root causes and prevent recurring issues
- Advocate for continuous improvement across infrastructure and system processes
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and processes to address business needs
- Stay current with industry trends, apply best practices, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of engineering standards
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on programming experience with backend languages
- Proficiency in PHP for backend development
- Experience working with MySQL or similar relational database technologies
- Strong knowledge of database schema design, caching strategies, and scalability considerations
- Solid understanding of communication protocols such as TCP and RPC
- Familiarity with distributed systems concepts and architectures
- Practical experience with Linux operating systems for backend development and deployment
- Experience using modern CI/CD and containerization tools, including Docker
- Ability to analyze time and memory complexity for optimizing code performance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration
- English proficiency at B2+ level or higher, with experience in direct client communications
- The role requires working in the LATAM time zone (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM local time)
Nice to have
- Experience with caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached for optimizing data access
- Background in DevOps practices for improving development and deployment workflows
- Familiarity with full-stack observability tools like New Relic for monitoring and troubleshooting
- Experience with additional programming languages such as Python, GoLang, or Java for broader technical versatility
