Senior Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal for ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations across various regions, with a primary focus on Brazil. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach and a deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations to effectively manage and streamline payroll functions.

Responsibilities
  • Support payroll processing tasks performed by the payroll vendor, including generating and providing updates
  • Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of Brazil employer taxes and obligations
  • Prepare necessary documentation for both voluntary and involuntary terminations
  • Compile and submit periodic reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions to management, local authorities, and other relevant parties
  • Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees and stakeholders professionally, or escalate as needed
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operational flow
  • Monitor and update payroll records and systems to reflect current employee data and changes
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll processes
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding payroll and employment
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll management
  • Extensive experience in HR & Payroll operations within Brazil, either directly or through a payroll vendor
  • Profound knowledge of payroll taxation and compliance issues
  • Native proficiency in Portuguese and at least a B1+ level in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and resolve a queue of support tickets from employees and stakeholders
  • Experience in liaising with authorities and government entities
  • Willingness to learn payroll processes and regulations applicable to other LATAM countries
  • Proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering results
  • Capability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Organized, participative, and able to work collaboratively within a team
  • Open to technical and process improvements
Nice to have
  • Experience in a multinational corporation
  • Knowledge of taxes, social security, profit-sharing, Electronic Payroll, Finance/Accounting, and Pmovel
  • Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resource Information System) platforms and tools
