Senior Payroll Specialist

We are in search of an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to enhance our team. This crucial position ensures the precision and timeliness of payroll operations across various areas, especially focusing on Brazil. The successful candidate will be proactive and possess a thorough understanding of payroll systems and regulations, which are essential for effectively managing and optimizing payroll procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate payroll processing activities conducted by our external payroll vendor, including the generation and provision of updates
  • Verify and ensure the precise calculation and prompt payment of employer taxes and obligations in Brazil
  • Develop documentation required for both voluntary and involuntary employee terminations
  • Generate and present regular reports such as monthly, quarterly, and yearly statements to company management, local authorities, and other stakeholders
  • Professionally handle and resolve payroll-related questions from employees and stakeholders, escalating issues when necessary
  • Sustain productive relationships with internal teams to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
  • Keep payroll records and systems up to date to accurately reflect changes and current employee information
  • Drive initiatives aimed at the continuous improvement of payroll processes
  • Comply with all relevant payroll and employment laws and regulations
Requirements
  • A minimum of three years' experience in managing payroll
  • Comprehensive experience in HR & Payroll within Brazil, either hands-on or through a third-party provider
  • In-depth understanding of payroll taxation and regulatory compliance
  • Native fluency in Portuguese and a minimum of B1+ level in English, with robust written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Skilled in managing and resolving a variety of support inquiries from employees and stakeholders
  • Experienced in communicating with government entities and authorities
  • Ready to acquire knowledge about payroll systems and regulations in other LATAM countries
  • Competent in data analysis using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to producing excellent results
  • Able to manage sensitive information with utmost confidentiality
  • Well-organized, collaborative, and able to work effectively within a team environment
  • Receptive to both technical and procedural enhancements
Nice to have
  • Previous experience in a multinational environment
  • Understanding of taxes, social security contributions, profit-sharing, Electronic Payroll, and basics of Finance/Accounting
  • Experience with Human Resource Information System (HRIS) platforms and applications
