Senior Network Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our remote team.

This individual will be an influential contributor who leads by example, while mentoring junior engineers. The Senior Network Engineer will consistently interface with tech leadership in the organization, lead complex and vaguely defined projects, and occasionally step into team leadership roles based on current projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead complex and vaguely defined projects
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Interface with tech leadership in the organization
  • Drive technical design end-to-end of multiple projects
  • Contribute to the engineering community through a blog post, open-source contributions, tech talks, etc.
  • Maintain overall network services for the LAN, WAN, and telecommunications systems
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication to internal customers/partner organizations who may be impacted by change activity
  • Conduct a deep review of data and issues to quickly reveal the root cause of a problem
  • Recommend interim and long-term solutions to complex problems
  • Effectively identify issues with the quality and performance of products, services, solutions, or processes and propose improvements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field
  • 3+ years of expertise in configuring enterprise or service provider-grade network hardware
  • Expertise in configuring, operating, and automating cloud IaaS networks (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Intermediate to expert-level skills in routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, MPBGP, ISIS, MPLS)
  • Understanding of physical and virtual network technologies and how they interoperate
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of models used to show network state and for configuration (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, IPFIX, Netconf, Restconf, gRPC)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in change management and incident management (ITSM)
  • Experience in network architecture, network monitoring, and network security
  • Strong team-oriented disposition and a proven self-starting attitude
  • Proficient in English with an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
Nice to have
  • Relevant certification (e.g., Cisco CCNP, CCIE, AWS Professional, AWS Network Specialty)
  • Experience with wireless networking
  • Knowledge of Splunk and Datadog tools
  • Experience with features and facilities for integration, and communication among applications, databases, and technology platforms
  • Knowledge of emerging technology trends and best practices that could potentially benefit the organization
