We are looking for a Senior MuleSoft Integration Architect to design and align the bank’s integration models, API standards, and event-driven architectures for internal and third-party ecosystems. You will guide governance, ensure performance and stability, and drive reusable integration capabilities across teams; apply now to help shape our enterprise integration strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Define the bank-wide APIfication strategy across domain layers
  • Design and socialize integration models for internal teams and third-party ecosystems
  • Define API standards and governance guidelines to ensure transversal reuse and consistency
  • Build and maintain API taxonomy and contract design standards using OpenAPI
  • Design event-driven integration architectures aligned with enterprise standards
  • Evaluate microservices and APIs to ensure standardization, categorization, reuse, and optimal performance
  • Control compliance of team-delivered APIs and microservices with governance and technical policies
  • Define integration standards for internal and external interfaces, including security and protocol requirements
  • Execute proofs of concept for new integration tools and approaches
  • Promote API monetization opportunities aligned with business and product vision
  • Create synergies across platforms by enabling reusable components and shared capabilities
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience designing enterprise integrations and APIs in banking or similar regulated environments
  • 5+ years of experience with MuleSoft and API-led connectivity concepts
  • Strong consultancy skills to influence stakeholders, align standards, and guide teams
  • Proven leadership skills to drive API governance and cross-platform alignment
  • Hands-on project experience defining API strategies, taxonomies, and contract standards (OpenAPI)
  • Advanced Java Spring Boot knowledge for microservices and integration patterns
  • Solid CI/CD knowledge including pipeline configuration and automated testing practices
  • Cloud certification in Azure or AWS at development or architecture level
  • Strong architecture knowledge across SOA, microservices, event-driven, and serverless paradigms
  • Strong protocol and web standards knowledge (HTTP/HTTP2, REST, SOAP, WebSockets, W3C, RFC/ISO)
  • Strong security standards knowledge (JWT, OAuth2, OpenID, SAML2)
  • Strong modeling and documentation skills (TOGAF, C4 modeling, UML, deployment and state diagrams)
  • Strong agile knowledge with Scrum and iterative planning practices
  • Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)
  • On-site availability to work from Quito, Ecuador
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of financial industry models such as BIAN
  • Knowledge of ISO 20022 financial messaging standards
  • Experience administering Apigee or working with API management platforms (APIM)
  • Experience with Kafka and message queues (MQ) for event streaming and messaging
  • Experience with OpenShift and Azure DevOps tooling
