We are in search of a Senior Java Developer proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to enhance our remote team's capabilities.
The ideal team member should have a robust Java development background, complemented by a thorough understanding of GCP services such as DataFlow, BigQuery, and Kafka. Skills in Spring Boot 3, Elasticsearch, and GraphQL would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Partnership with cross-functional teams in designing, developing, and deploying scalable Java-based applications on GCP
- Active involvement in migrating existing systems to GCP, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption
- Designing and implementing data processing pipelines using GCP DataFlow for real-time and batch processing
- Use of Kafka to build resilient event-driven architectures and streaming applications
- Development of RESTful web services and GraphQL APIs to support various client applications
- Integration of Elasticsearch for efficient indexing, search, and analysis of extensive datasets
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Java development, with a proficiency in Java
- Comprehensive understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, particularly DataFlow, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub
- Familiarity with Spring Boot 3 framework for building microservices and web applications
- Experience in using Kafka for building event-driven architectures and real-time data processing
- Superior problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot intricate issues
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch for indexing and querying large volumes of data
- Previous involvement with GraphQL
- Experience using Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and management
