We are looking for a Senior Java Full-Stack Developer with deep backend expertise and solid working knowledge of Angular to lead the ongoing maintenance, modernization, and technical evolution of enterprise Gateway applications. The role is primarily backend-focused while driving improvements across multiple Angular frontends spanning legacy and modern frameworks.
The ideal candidate takes ownership of complex enterprise systems and thrives on elevating existing applications through architectural improvements, refactoring, dependency upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and continuous modernization rather than greenfield development. You will be expected to mentor other engineers, influence technical direction, and set engineering standards across the team.
- Design, develop, and maintain Java and Spring Boot backend services, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability
- Lead technical improvements across Angular-based applications, including both legacy Angular 8 and modern Angular 18 codebases
- Drive the resolution of security vulnerabilities identified by Veracode and address CAST code quality findings, establishing best practices for the team
- Own bug fixes, refactoring initiatives, dependency upgrades, and framework migrations end-to-end
- Define and implement strategies to improve application performance, maintainability, and security at scale
- Conduct and lead code reviews, promoting secure software development practices and clean code principles
- Collaborate closely with technical leads, QA engineers, architects, and security teams, contributing to architectural decisions
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues, performing root cause analysis and driving long-term solutions
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, sharing knowledge and fostering technical growth within the team
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in enterprise environments
- Proven experience developing and maintaining Angular applications (Angular 8+ required, experience across multiple major versions preferred)
- Deep knowledge of TypeScript, RxJS, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and REST API design principles
- Demonstrated experience leading work on large-scale enterprise applications and complex legacy codebases
- Strong background in application modernization, dependency upgrades, and framework migrations
- Proven track record of addressing security vulnerabilities and code quality findings using tools such as Veracode, CAST, SonarQube, or similar
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives independently
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic enterprise environment, balancing multiple concurrent priorities and stakeholders
- English proficiency at B2 level or above
- Hands-on experience with the Apigee API platform
- Proven track record leading enterprise application modernization initiatives
- Strong background in large-scale dependency and framework upgrades
- Experience defining technical roadmaps for legacy system modernization
