Senior Java Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our remote team, working with a global healthcare ISV and one of the top Electronic Medical Record (EMR) vendors. As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of a multi-year program to reimagine and re-platform their legacy application suite as a SaaS based solution using modern technologies and frameworks deployed on AWS cloud. With a legacy of over 170 years in healthcare and innovation, this company touches millions of lives every day through the distribution and dispensing of medicines.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based software solutions, ensuring high performance and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and design solutions that meet user needs
- Contribute to the development of modern web stacks, using React and Ruby on Rails
- Develop REST-based microservices using Java Spring Boot, ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications
- Optimize software performance and scalability, using AWS cloud-based solutions
- Ensure code quality and maintainability, using best practices such as code reviews and automated testing
- Participate in design reviews, offering input on requirements, product design, and potential challenges
- Mentor and coach junior developers, helping to grow their skills and expertise
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Java development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions
- In-depth knowledge of ReactJS, Amazon Web Services, Spring Boot, and Oracle Database Platform
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment, especially using Concourse CI or Jenkins
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to identify and troubleshoot complex software issues
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, using Scrum or Kanban methodologies
- Ability to mentor and coach junior developers, helping to grow their skills and expertise
- Fluent spoken and written English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
Nice to have
- Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB or Cassandra
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Exposure to other cloud-based platforms, such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
