We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Instructional Designer to join our team and document EPAM’s internal processes.

This role focuses on creating structured written content, such as articles, handbooks, and playbooks, to guide employees and managers through workflows, tools, and operational standards. You will collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the organization to transform complex procedures into clear, engaging, and actionable narratives.

Responsibilities
  • Research, draft, and organize internal process documentation for employees and managers, ensuring it is accessible to both human readers and LLM-based tools
  • Create and update employee playbooks covering everyday workflows, including staffing, onboarding, development, travel, and relocation
  • Develop playbooks for operational roles such as Talent Managers and Resource Managers, providing process owner perspectives that complement employee-facing materials
  • Regularly review and refine content based on stakeholder feedback, policy updates, and insights from chatbot testing
  • Ensure alignment and consistency across platforms such as InfoPortal and Coda.io, while maintaining coherence with related documents
  • Conduct interviews with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather accurate and comprehensive information
  • Collaborate with teams such as Talent Acquisition, Hiring, and Talent Management to align on content scope, terminology, and structure
  • Adapt existing articles into onboarding materials or internal training modules to support employee development
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Communications, Technical Writing, Instructional Design, or a similar discipline
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Instructional Designer or in a related role
  • Proven expertise in instructional design, technical writing, knowledge management, or internal communications
  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and structured format for diverse audiences, from general users to subject matter experts
  • Strong skills in stakeholder management and conducting interviews to collect detailed insights
  • Hands-on experience with content management systems and tools such as Confluence, Coda.io, or similar platforms
  • Native-level proficiency in English writing with a focus on clarity and precision
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently
  • Familiarity with LLM-based tools, including understanding their capabilities, use cases, and limitations
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills to navigate complex problem spaces effectively
  • Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken) at a C1 level or higher
Nice to have
  • Experience in large-scale IT or consulting environments, with exposure to complex organizational structures
  • Knowledge of HR, operations, or talent management processes to enhance the relevance of content created
  • Experience designing chatbot content or writing for conversational user interfaces to improve engagement and usability
