EPAM is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Senior Game Tester to join our team and contribute to the successful adaptation of PC game titles for mobile platforms.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the QA Lead and a dedicated team of testers to ensure a high-quality and enjoyable gaming experience. This is an exciting chance to work alongside one of EPAM's long-term gaming industry partners and make a meaningful impact on mobile gaming projects.
Responsibilities
- Gain a thorough understanding of game mechanics, progression systems, and configuration settings
- Execute comprehensive test cases to evaluate gameplay, performance, and mobile-specific features
- Identify, document, and track bugs, providing clear and actionable feedback to developers
- Work with the QA Lead to prioritize testing tasks and ensure project timelines are achieved
- Conduct hands-on testing of game builds on mobile devices, covering functionality, compatibility, performance, and usability
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving issues related to game builds, installations, and configurations
- Offer feedback on gameplay, controls, and user experience to enhance overall game quality
- Share knowledge within the team and support junior testers through mentoring when needed
- Assist in creating and maintaining test plans and test cases for the project
- Stay informed of project updates and communicate potential risks or challenges to the QA Lead
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in software testing, with exposure to game testing preferred
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, defect reporting, and quality assurance practices
- Hands-on experience installing and running game builds on mobile devices
- Ability to analyze game mechanics and provide constructive insights on gameplay and user experience
- Proficiency in documenting and tracking issues using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Quality Control processes
- Passion for gaming, with experience playing various game genres and titles
- Attention to detail with a focus on accurately identifying and documenting issues
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently under the direction of the QA Lead
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills for collaborating with testers, developers, and the QA Lead
- Adaptable and quick to learn new tools, workflows, and game mechanics
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and suggest solutions for technical issues
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at a B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Previous experience in game testing or mobile game development
- Basic understanding of game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine, or familiarity with scripting tools
- ISTQB certification or an equivalent quality assurance certification
