We are seeking a Senior EKS Platform Engineer to own autoscaling, policy governance and release automation for a Kubernetes estate running on Amazon EKS. This role covers pod and node autoscaling enablement, admission-time policy enforcement through Gatekeeper and OPA, and GitOps release management built on Argo CD and Terraform. Delivery is AWS cloud-native, with multi-architecture node pools and custom tooling in scope.

Responsibilities
  • Enable and tune horizontal and vertical pod autoscaling so workloads track demand without over-provisioning
  • Configure Karpenter provisioners for node lifecycle and right-sizing against workload requirements
  • Validate autoscaling behavior across multi-architecture node pools spanning AMD64 and ARM64
  • Author Gatekeeper constraints and constraint templates that enforce cluster policy at admission time
  • Implement mutating admission configuration so policy defaults apply consistently across namespaces
  • Operate GitOps release management through Argo CD, including promotion gates and automated rollback paths
  • Maintain Terraform modules that provision cluster infrastructure and policy baselines reproducibly
  • Extend custom tooling supporting the release process to reduce manual intervention
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and Kubernetes
  • Expertise in Karpenter for node lifecycle management and workload right-sizing
  • Expertise in Argo CD and Terraform for GitOps release management and infrastructure automation
  • Advanced knowledge of Open Policy Agent for admission-time policy enforcement
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Development Kit
  • Understanding of Argo Rollouts and Helm
  • Background in CI/CD
