Currently, we are looking for a remote Senior DBMS Developer in Java to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Cassandra cluster planning, which includes Data sizing estimation, and identify hardware requirements based on the estimated data size and transaction volume
- Creating, installing, and configuring a Cassandra cluster
- Using tools to monitor cluster availability and performance
- Exporting data into different data formats
- Using primary index and secondary indexes correctly to perform queries on data
- Backuping and restoring data to secure the system in the event of failure
- Tuning the performance of Java Virtual Machine (JVM), caches, and compaction
- Conducting a stress test on a Cassandra cluster and interpreting the performance results
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- In depth knowledge of architecting and creating Cassandra/no SQL database systems
- Cassandra Data Modelling, NoSQL Architecture, Keyspace, Table, Index creation, User creation & access administration
- Strong understanding of complex inner workings of Cassandra, such as the gossip protocol, hinted handoffs, read repairs, Merkle trees
- Tombstones and garbage purging
- Administration, Maintenance and supporting of the cluster using Opscenter, Devcenter, Linux, Spark
- CQL Queries to support Integration with Cassandra Cluster
- Basic ci/cd pipelines configuration experience
