Join our remote team as a Senior Big Data Engineer and help us build a Databricks solution from scratch. As a Senior Big Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data platform, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. You will work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain our data platform, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Develop and maintain data models, ETL processes, and data pipelines
- Implement and maintain data security and privacy measures
- Monitor and optimize the performance of our data platform, identifying and resolving issues as they arise
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for data engineering
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and apply them to our platform as appropriate
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data software engineering, with a focus on building scalable and reliable data platforms
- Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Databricks, and Scala
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, including experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Blob Storage
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud computing
- Experience in designing and implementing data security and privacy measures
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Fluent spoken and written English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
