Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

We are looking for a skilled and results-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our innovative IT team.

This position plays a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing our SQL database systems while advancing automation, cloud solutions, and modern architectural strategies to support organizational growth.

Responsibilities
  • Administer Microsoft SQL Server databases in both on-premises and cloud environments
  • Automate database management tasks using Azure DevOps Pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code methods
  • Optimize database performance through advanced tuning and diagnostic techniques
  • Establish disaster recovery, high availability, and data retention compliance processes
  • Apply robust governance and access controls to secure database environments
  • Align database architecture with business objectives in collaboration with development and DevOps teams
  • Develop clear documentation, including design specifications and standard operating procedures
  • Deploy and manage dashboards, metrics, and alerts for availability and system health
  • Research emerging database technologies and make well-informed recommendations
  • Handle database-related incidents and manage environment changes, including participating in on-call support
  • Define database standards and best practices to ensure operational excellence
  • Guide and support team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL and managing Microsoft SQL Server environments
  • Expertise in backup/recovery strategies, security configurations, and performance troubleshooting
  • Background in data warehouse design, managing large datasets, and data modeling techniques
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Knowledge of SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS tools for business intelligence and data integration
  • Competency in managing databases in both Windows Server and Linux environments
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, or Google Cloud SQL
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and Agile software development principles
  • Familiarity with database access controls based on RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) models
  • Strong analytical thinking and focus on delivering operational efficiency
  • Exceptional communication and ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
