We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Database Administrator to manage and optimize our Oracle and SQL Server database environments.
This role will focus on ensuring database reliability, scalability, and security while driving performance improvements and meeting evolving business needs.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and configure Oracle and MSSQL Server databases to ensure availability and reliability
- Optimize database performance for both Oracle and SQL Server, including tuning queries, indexing, and system parameters
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and SQL Server Always On
- Enforce data security and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Automate routine tasks through scripting and develop monitoring solutions using SQL Developer, OEM/Grid, Foglight, and OCI Console
- Collaborate with developers to align database configurations with application requirements
- Conduct troubleshooting and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner
- Create and maintain accurate documentation for database architecture, processes, and configurations
- Support large-scale database migrations and upgrades
- Oversee backup and recovery processes to safeguard critical data
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle and MSSQL Server DBA in enterprise environments
- Background in Oracle (19c), Exadata, RAC, and Data Guard; experience with ASM and PL/SQL scripting
- Expertise in MSSQL features, including Always On, Clustering, Replication, SSIS, and SSRS
- Familiarity with database tools such as SQL Developer, OEM/Grid, Foglight, and OCI Console
- Competency in physical/logical replication methods, including tools like Quest Shareplex and Oracle Data Guard
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills to articulate technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently or collaboratively, with on-call support as required
Nice to have
- Knowledge of MongoDB, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Qlik, Kafka, Informatica, or Databricks
- Background in ServiceNow for incident tracking and resolution
- Flexibility to work with a variety of data tools and frameworks beyond Oracle and MSSQL
