We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Data Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to building cutting-edge technology solutions for Investment functions, including trade flows, accounting, reconciliation, reporting, and more.
This role will focus on application integration with the Investments Accounting Book of Record (SimCorp Dimension) while leveraging deep expertise in data engineering, cloud technologies, and financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Subject Matter Experts to define technical requirements for data-driven solutions
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust software applications using modern technology stacks
- Support data integration processes to ensure seamless capturing, transformation, and delivery of financial data
- Demonstrate integrated solutions and articulate business value to stakeholders during sprint showcases
- Facilitate high-quality iterative product delivery within Agile scrum team environments
- Utilize SQL to program views, stored procedures, and functions to handle complex data workflows
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using BitBucket/GitHub and Bamboo
- Integrate reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau for enhanced business intelligence
- Support and optimize data warehousing and Dimensional Modeling processes (e.g., Kimball methodology)
- Leverage cloud platform technologies (AWS preferred) for data processing and orchestration tasks
- Contribute to the development of scalable ETL processes using Python and related libraries (Pandas, NumPy, etc.)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
- Expertise in SQL for building views, stored procedures, and data workflows
- Skills in working with cloud platforms like AWS, leveraging services such as S3, Glue, Athena, and Lambda
- Proficiency in Python for ETL tasks, along with tools like Pandas/NumPy and Python unit testing frameworks
- Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines through tools like BitBucket/GitHub and Bamboo
- Competency in data warehousing, Dimensional Modeling, and Data Extraction Utilities
- Background in Agile software development practices, including story sizing, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Nice to have
- Experience with financial systems and reporting, particularly in investment accounting or general ledger contexts
- Background in integrating large-scale financial investment/ERP systems such as SimCorp Dimension or similar platforms
- Expertise in agile delivery of data solutions using AWS resources, Snowflake, and orchestration tools
- Familiarity with advanced data integration tools like SnapLogic, Rest APIs, and pipeline orchestration
- Showcase of skills in developing interactive dashboards and advanced reporting using Power BI
