We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support a GCP-based data platform initiative. The role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines and analytics infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, contributing to a scalable and reliable data ecosystem that powers reporting and analytics across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Dataflow on GCP
- Develop and optimize data models and queries in BigQuery
- Build and support reporting and analytics layers using Looker (or similar BI tooling)
- Contribute to the design and evolution of the broader GCP Data Platform
- Apply data governance best practices, including access controls, data quality, lineage, and documentation across pipelines and datasets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering
- Solid understanding of GCP-based data platform architecture
- Proficiency in BigQuery, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Expertise in Dataflow for building batch and/or streaming data pipelines
- Familiarity with Looker or equivalent BI/analytics tooling
- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of data engineering fundamentals (ETL/ELT, data modeling)
- Fluent Spanish speaker with English at B2 level for team collaboration
Nice to have
- Background in data governance practices, including access management, data cataloging, and lineage
- Understanding of compliance considerations in data platforms
