We are seeking a highly skilled remote Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team, spearheading the migration of our client's application and data to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). As the Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, highly available, and secure infrastructure on GCP. The successful candidate will be in charge of automating infrastructure creation using Terraform, release and build automation using Jenkins, and deploying and maintaining micro-service applications using Helm and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, highly available, and secure infrastructure on GCP
- Automate infrastructure creation using Terraform
- Automate release and build processes using Jenkins
- Deploy and maintain micro-service applications using Helm and Kubernetes
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues in the production environment
- Collaborate with the team to improve the CI/CD pipeline
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of best practices for GCP infrastructure
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer with expertise in GCP
- Experience in building and maintaining a CI/CD pipeline at scale on GCP
- Expertise in Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration administration
- Strong experience in release and automation practices, using tools such as Jenkins
- Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code
- Proficiency in Git/SVN for version control
- Excellent knowledge of automation and release practices
- Strong understanding of networking concepts such as VPCs, firewalls, and load balancers
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
- Strong collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and with external consultants
- Fluent spoken and written English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
Nice to have
- Experience in cloud security and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations
- Experience in other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure for multi-cloud solutions
