We are looking to bring on board a talented Senior C++ Software Engineer to enhance our Engineering team.
You will have an essential part to play in our dynamic division, tackling projects centered around the cutting-edge Google infrastructure while utilizing a variety of modern backend and cloud technologies, such as Borg, C++ codebase, Google Cloud Run, and Spanner.
Responsibilities
- Contribute effectively as an integral part of a Scrum Team
- Handle the development and reliability engineering for various infrastructure projects
- Address issues raised by both end-users and automated monitoring services
- Work closely with fellow developers and teams to align with stakeholder requirements
- Update or introduce features to improve the platform's stability
- Develop solutions that consider the existing customer's infrastructure
- Provide on-call support for emergencies as necessary
- Continuously enhance knowledge and skills in site reliability engineering
Requirements
- 3+ years of proficiency in C++, covering topics like concurrency, design patterns, memory management, exceptions, templates, STL, and performance
- Background in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Expertise in Agile Frameworks such as SCRUM and Kanban
- Familiarity with Version Control Systems such as GitHub
- Capability to diagnose issues, learn quickly, and effectively adopt new technologies
- Fluency in English with communication skills at a B2+ level
Nice to have
- Familiarity with services from Google Cloud Platform such as Spanner, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, and Compute Engine
- Understanding of SQL usage including joins, subqueries, and aggregate functions
- Knowledge of Google's internal development tools like Borg, Forge, TAP, Guitar, Piper, Cider, and Critique
