We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Business Analyst (BA) to join our team working on back-office applications for a systemic bank in Greece. You will focus on the realization, extension, and enhancement of complex back-office workflows, primarily building new applications and expanding software solutions. Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, operational teams, and engineering squads, you will translate complex business and stakeholder requirements into precise functional specifications.
Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and document comprehensive business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications for new back-office systems and workflow automation
- Author detailed Functional Design Documents (FDD) and Agile User Stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Design and model end-to-end business processes and workflows using industry standards such as BPMN and UML
- Define conceptual data and domain models, conceptual API contracts, data mappings, and integration requirements for backend services
- Create wireframes and collaborate closely with the UX team to shape target designs that meet all functional and business requirements
- Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Grooming, Dailies, Retrospectives), serving as the functional anchor for development and QA teams throughout the sprint lifecycle
- Maintain complete requirements traceability from business objectives through to functional specifications
- Participate in risk assessment processes to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential delivery or functional risks
- Support structured change management processes to handle scope changes and ensure alignment across stakeholders
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst in complex enterprise environments (experience in the banking sector is a strong plus)
- Solid understanding of back-office operations, workflow automation, or complex transaction processing lifecycles
- Strong understanding of backend logic and implementation principles (APIs, microservices architecture, data flows)
- Experience in defining conceptual API contracts, system integrations, and data mappings
- Expertise in BPMN and UML modelling (using tools like Enterprise Architect, Camunda, Lucidchart, or similar)
- Proven ability to author high-quality FDDs and User Stories in ticketing tools (preferably Azure DevOps / ADO), alongside experience creating wireframes and partnering with UX teams
- Hands-on experience working in Agile Scrum environments
- Adept with requirements traceability methodologies
- Experienced in participating in risk management processes
- Knowledgeable in structured change management processes
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, client-facing environments
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English
