We're looking for a Business Analyst to join our team in Madrid. In this role, you will work within the Regulatory & Reporting team, translating complex business and compliance requirements into functional specifications that enable accurate and compliant regulatory reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, familiarity with financial regulations such as EMIR Refit, MiFID II/MiFIR, and local reporting obligations, as well as the ability to collaborate across business, compliance and technology teams.

- Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into structured, testable functional specifications
- Define and document reporting logic, data transformations, and field-level attributes
- Lead data mapping activities between source systems and reporting schemas (XML, JSON, CSV)
- Prototype report outputs using SQL and Python to validate data coverage and reporting logic
- Identify data gaps and clarify requirements in collaboration with compliance SMEs and business stakeholders
- Support design and implementation activities by working closely with architects and technical leads
- Ensure traceability between regulatory obligations, design specifications, and delivered reports
- Prepare validation scenarios, functional test cases, and ensure accurate production rollout
- Contribute to requirement walkthroughs, workshops, and cross-functional discussions
- 7+ years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or backend/data engineering in regulated environments
- In-depth understanding of financial regulations including EMIR/EMIR Refit, MiFID II/MiFIR, AMLD5, and country-specific reporting requirements
- Familiarity with trade lifecycle concepts and financial products (securities, derivatives, FX, etc.)
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis
- Working knowledge of Python for logic prototyping and output formats
- Experience producing and validating structured output (XML, JSON)
- Ability to write clear functional specifications and interpret data models
- Excellent analytical skills with a structured and detail-oriented approach
- Strong stakeholder communication, both technical and business-oriented
- Fluent in English
- Experience with T24 (Temenos) or similar core banking systems
- Knowledge of French or German
- Familiarity with automation of regulatory reporting solutions
