We are looking for a Senior Automation Tester in JavaScript to drive automated quality across Exploration Pod products, especially Explorer, Live Events, and Field Notes. You will prioritize Cypress automation for live events, verify Kafka consumer reliability fixes, and keep field notes browser suites healthy while partnering on integrations.
Responsibilities
- Automate the top 28 priority test cases for the live events product using Cypress
- Enhance and maintain existing Cypress browser automation suites for the field notes platform
- Execute regression, integration, and exploratory testing across sprint cycles for all pod products
- Design and run test scenarios for Kafka consumer reliability fixes, including dead-letter queue and retry behavior
- Verify fan-out write consistency across the explorer platform's three target data stores
- Collaborate with the Integration Engineer to test CRM and GIS integration flows
- Run accessibility checks using axe-core and report findings against WCAG 2.1 AA standards
- Perform Lighthouse CI performance checks and flag regressions to the pod lead
- Create, update, and organize test cases in TestRail for all Exploration products
- Triage and document defects clearly, providing reproduction steps and environment context
- Participate in incident response simulation exercises with the pod lead and infrastructure team
- Align pod-level practices with the cross-portfolio test strategy in collaboration with the QA Manager
Requirements
- Proven experience of 3+ years in automation testing with strong proficiency in Cypress
- Demonstrated ability to test event-driven and integration-heavy systems
- Working familiarity with Playwright for browser automation
- Practical knowledge of test management processes using TestRail
- Clear understanding of accessibility testing standards, including WCAG 2.1 AA, using axe-core
- Hands-on skills in performance testing using Lighthouse CI
- Solid familiarity with GitLab CI for continuous integration workflows
- Detail-oriented approach to defect documentation, including reproduction steps and environment context
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
