Senior Automation Tester in Java for Commercial Banking
Currently, we are looking for a remote Senior Automation Tester in Java to join our team.
The client is one of the biggest commercial banks. It offers a full range of personal, business, and corporate banking and Insurance services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute high-quality Test Scripts for Automation under development
- Analyze requirements (user stories) and review acceptance criteria to ensure they are fit for purpose, testable, and can have tests developed to explicitly test and guide acceptance
- Create comprehensive and well-defined test scripts, with appropriate coverage, that is traceable back to requirements
- Execution and review of automation test scripts
- Identify faults/defects Ensure defects are raised correctly and in a timely manner using the defect management tool, JIRA
- Lead defect triage discussions and challenge development perception of severity
- Work with the Performance QA team to identify scenarios for testing
- Contribute to reporting including appropriate test metrics on planning, defects, and execution
- Work closely with the development and business teams
- Escalate risks and issues to the appropriate level, to enable timely mitigation
- Deliver project to agreed timelines
- Deputize for the QA Lead / QA Manager
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in AT in Java
- Ability to quickly learn, becoming proficiently knowledgeable of client applications
- Experience in testing complex applications that integrate with other systems and legacy back-ends
- Demonstrates knowledge and practical experience of test tools and industry-standard best practice
- Experience working in the Financial Services / Banking Industry
- Experienced in planning, estimating, and delivering projects
- Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Excellent communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
- 2-3 years of experience in testing the Rest APIs
- Hands-on experience in the following tools : Eclipse/IntelliJ, Postman
- Knowledge of Microservices and CI/CD
- A Computer Science/IT related Degree
