Senior Automation Engineer (Appium + TypeScript)

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Automation Engineer to help build and maintain automated test suites for Smart TV and streaming device applications. You’ll work closely with developers, QA, and product teams to ensure high-quality releases across a wide range of platforms, including Tizen, webOS, Android TV, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement automated test cases using Appium for Smart TV and streaming platforms
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
  • Maintain and evolve test frameworks, test data, and test environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and drive resolution
  • Contribute to test planning, documentation, and reporting
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in test automation for mobile, embedded, or Smart TV platforms
  • Strong hands-on experience with Appium (JavaScript, TypeScript)
  • Familiarity with BDD frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Cucumber, Jasmine)
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and test result reporting
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and version control (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps)
  • Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
Nice to have
  • Experience with Suitest (suite.st) for Smart TV automation
  • Background in gaming or game testing, especially on console or cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with WebDriverIO, Selenium, or Playwright
  • Knowledge of Device Automation Bus (DAB) or similar device control frameworks
  • Exposure to Azure/Kusto for test result analytics
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Azure Test Plans)
  • Understanding of Smart TV ecosystems (Tizen, webOS, Android TV, Roku)
