Senior Application Support Engineer

We are looking to recruit a Senior Application Support Engineer to become a vital part of our energetic team.

The chosen candidate will be in charge of delivering technical support for our organization's applications, ensuring they perform effectively while achieving user satisfaction. Working collaboratively with IT professionals and business stakeholders, you will develop and implement dependable, powerful, and service-oriented technology solutions that meet our clients' specific requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Assume accountability for the stability and issue resolution of the Quant/Enterprise Technology systems during business hours
  • Oversee the readiness and smooth functioning of production environments, executing routine upkeep on files, data stores, and job control systems
  • Engage in on-call duties
  • Diagnose intricate production issues, conduct root cause investigations, devise resolutions, and guide them through necessary implementation steps
  • Recognize and control risks, promptly addressing significant concerns and escalating incidents when appropriate
  • Ensure client satisfaction by meeting productivity goals, quality standards, and deadlines while maintaining honest, realistic, and dedicated partnerships
  • Implement patches and manage full-stack deployments to production
  • Perform regular disaster recovery tests and refine the overall process
  • Advocate for the adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies
  • Propose innovative solutions to organizational challenges and processes by leveraging cutting-edge technology for competitive advantage, efficiency gains, and superior user experiences
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in application support or a comparable role
  • Background in MS SQL
  • Skills in basic PowerShell
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting
  • Qualifications in understanding the business domain, notably in Finance
  • Strong initiative and communication capabilities
  • Understanding of ITIL processes
  • Familiarity with RESTful services, SQL databases, and AMQP
  • Capability to utilize CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, Control-M, Grafana, Octopus, TeamCity
  • Expertise in monitoring tools like Grafana, Victoria Metrics, Solar Winds, ElasticSearch
  • Flexibility to adapt to fast-changing environments
Nice to have
  • Experience in creating, enhancing, and maintaining technology systems and releasing technical solutions, preferably in a Microsoft context
  • Knowledge of OOP language coding principles and skills
  • Good understanding of PowerShell or C#
  • Experience navigating complex settings with various interdependencies
