We are seeking a skilled Senior Apigee Developer to build and run Apigee API proxies on Google Cloud, GQL services, and third-party services, creating a secure, governed API layer in front of internal and external systems. This role sits at the heart of our integration layer, enabling 3rd-party integrations and connecting FluentOMS to external services through Apigee API proxies and iPaaS integration workflows.
Responsibilities
- Front third-party, SaaS, or legacy systems (Salesforce, SAP, SOAP/on-prem) with Apigee, mediating authentication and protocols (SOAP↔REST, XML↔JSON)
- Add an Apigee layer in front of the GQL service layer
- Build proxies and shared flows for security, traffic management, caching, logging, and error handling
- Secure APIs using OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and API keys
- Manage API products and the developer portal
- Automate deployments with CI/CD tools such as Maven/apigeecli, Cloud Build, and Terraform
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and support production environments using Apigee Analytics, Trace, and Cloud Logging
Requirements
- 8+ years of overall professional experience, with 5+ years specifically working with Apigee
- Expertise in Apigee X/hybrid (Edge accepted), including policies, shared flows, and target servers
- Proficiency in KVMs and OpenAPI 3.x
- Skills in REST, SOAP, and JSON/XML
- Background in JavaScript, with Java or Python as a plus
- Knowledge of GCP services, including VPC, Private Service Connect, and load balancers
- Familiarity with IAM, Secret Manager, and Cloud Run/GKE
- Understanding of Cloud Monitoring
- English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
Nice to have
- Experience with Apigee Edge-to-X migration
- Familiarity with Apigee Integration/Connectors
- Google Cloud certification
