Senior Accessibility Specialist

We are in search of a seasoned Senior Accessibility Specialist dedicated to creating inclusive and seamless experiences for all customers.
This position will require close collaboration with the Principal Accessibility Specialist to improve accessibility across digital platforms, ensuring accessible interaction for users of all capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Implement WCAG AA standards and equivalent government standards in client development and design workflows
- Work with Designers and Developers to modify visual designs and code to meet accessibility standards
- Liaise with third-party vendors to ensure secondary compliance and usability
- Perform design and code-level accessibility audits employing screen reader technologies and deliver constructive feedback
- Advise on remediation strategies and screen reader testing for teams unfamiliar with accessibility
- Track and report on accessibility performance metrics
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and assist with design and technical issues
- Maintain adherence to the organization’s core values
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accessibility advocacy
- At least 2 years of experience in program and project management
- High emotional intelligence and deep empathy for users
- Strong commitment to disability advocacy
- Proficiency in assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, Voiceover, Talkback, and Dragon
- Understanding of accessibility testing tools like axe, PAC3, and CCA
- Leadership skills and experience in mentoring teams
- Attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Ability to engage in public speaking, manage conflicts, and prioritize multiple projects
- Educational background includes Bachelor's degree, IAAP certification (CPACC, WAS, etc.), DHS v5 Trusted Tester certification, and PMP certification
Nice to have
- Background in design and research tools including Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Mural, Axure, UserTesting
- Capability to analyze code for accessibility issues
- Competency in Microsoft Office, Jira, and Confluence
