We are seeking a Security Architect to join our remote team.

The successful candidate will work with a major Canadian media and information corporation to govern a set of APIs exposed to 3rd party customers, ensuring compliance and alignment with business interests. This role requires a seasoned security professional with expertise in security monitoring, assessment, standards, and governance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement security standards for APIs exposed to 3rd party customers
  • Assess existing APIs against security standards and develop compliance frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security governance and monitoring
  • Guide the implementation of security frameworks to ensure compliance and alignment with business interests
  • Create a framework for future monitoring and compliance of APIs
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of practical hands-on experience in security engineering or a related field
  • At least one year of experience as a Software Architect
  • Proficiency in security monitoring, assessment, standards, and governance
  • Ability to develop and implement security standards for APIs
  • Experience in guiding the implementation of security frameworks
  • Proven ability to assess existing APIs against standards and develop compliance frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice to have
  • Experience in working with Amazon Web Services and OpenAPI Specification (OAS)
  • Strong understanding of REST and its security implications
