We are seeking a Security Architect to join our remote team.
The successful candidate will work with a major Canadian media and information corporation to govern a set of APIs exposed to 3rd party customers, ensuring compliance and alignment with business interests. This role requires a seasoned security professional with expertise in security monitoring, assessment, standards, and governance.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security standards for APIs exposed to 3rd party customers
- Assess existing APIs against security standards and develop compliance frameworks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security governance and monitoring
- Guide the implementation of security frameworks to ensure compliance and alignment with business interests
- Create a framework for future monitoring and compliance of APIs
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of practical hands-on experience in security engineering or a related field
- At least one year of experience as a Software Architect
- Proficiency in security monitoring, assessment, standards, and governance
- Ability to develop and implement security standards for APIs
- Experience in guiding the implementation of security frameworks
- Proven ability to assess existing APIs against standards and develop compliance frameworks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice to have
- Experience in working with Amazon Web Services and OpenAPI Specification (OAS)
- Strong understanding of REST and its security implications
