We're looking for a SAP Manager to join our team in Portugal in a fully remote working mode. In this senior leadership role, you will lead and unify the SAP practice across functional and technical disciplines, including Logistics/SCM, FICO and ABAP/technical engineering. You will define the location strategy, drive business growth, establish technical and delivery governance and lead a local team of SAP professionals. This position demands a combination of deep SAP expertise, strategic leadership and the ability to influence technical direction and client outcomes in a dynamic technology environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and unify the SAP practice, providing consistent direction across functional and technical teams
- Build and develop high-performing teams of practice leads, architects, consultants and engineers
- Manage hiring, utilization, performance management and compensation within the SAP organization
- Foster mentoring, knowledge sharing and global collaboration to strengthen delivery capabilities
- Define and execute the SAP practice strategy to drive growth and market leadership
- Establish SAP architecture standards, development methodologies and delivery frameworks
- Promote innovation through AI-assisted development, automation and modern DevOps practices
- Provide hands-on enterprise and solution architecture leadership
- Oversee enterprise-scale SAP transformation projects, including S/4HANA implementations and ECC modernization
- Ensure delivery quality through architecture reviews, coding standards, ATC checks and reusable assets
- Lead presales activities including workshops, estimations, proposals and executive presentations
- Own delivery governance, project outcomes and long-term client relationship management across SAP accounts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- 10+ years of SAP experience spanning functional (Logistics/SCM, FICO) and technical areas (ABAP, ABAP Cloud, S/4HANA)
- Proven experience as SAP Practice Head, COE Leader or equivalent leadership role
- In-depth understanding of modern SAP stack: S/4HANA, ABAP Cloud, RAP, CDS, OData, SAP BTP and clean core principles
- Experience establishing technical governance and quality frameworks, including ATC checks, CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Strong client-facing and presales experience with proven success in proposals, contracts and executive interactions
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills in multicultural delivery environments
- Fluent in English (B2+ level); Portuguese proficiency is highly desirable
Nice to have
- SAP certifications in relevant functional or technical domains
- Experience with AI-enhanced SAP development or automation frameworks
- Familiarity with hybrid delivery models, global talent management and innovation programs
