Responsibilities
- Migrate MS SQL databases to PostgreSQL using AWS RDS
- Convert stored procedures from T-SQL to PL/pgSQL
- Utilize AWS Data Migration Service for heterogeneous database conversions
- Update application code to integrate PostgreSQL and AWS RDS
- Optimize database operational scripts for performance and reliability
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure smooth migration processes
- Perform quality assurance checks on migrated databases
- Monitor AWS RDS instances and address performance issues
- Implement backup and recovery strategies for PostgreSQL databases
- Document migration steps and technical configurations
- Provide technical support during and after database migration
Requirements
- Extensive experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in server administration
- Proficiency in Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL
- Expertise in AWS Data Migration Service
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Upper-Intermediate English language proficiency (B2)
Nice to have
- AWS certification
- PostgreSQL performance tuning expertise
- Experience with scripting in Python or Bash
