We are seeking a remote Middle NET Developer with experience in a trading environment, preferably in commodity or energy sectors, to join our Market Analysis team within Trading and Supply. As a Middle .Net Developer, you will work in a front office trading environment, directly engaging with business users and stakeholders. Your role will involve developing and supporting the existing platform for managing market and fundamental data across capture, forecasting, and visualization for Power, Gas, and Weather. The team is rapidly growing as we evolve the platform to align with our low carbon ambitions. This is a contract role with potential for contract-to-perm conversion.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with business users (desk analysts) to understand and enrich requirements for the platform
- Collaborate closely with the lead functional developer to define, develop, test, and release new features, ensuring the continuous improvement of the platform
- Provide workarounds and bug fixes for urgent production issues, contributing to the platform's stability and reliability
- Advocate best practices and coding standards within the development team, promoting a high level of quality and efficiency
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant work experience as a .Net Developer
- Strong proficiency in .Net or C# programming languages, utilizing them to build robust applications
- Solid knowledge of SQL Server for efficient database management and data manipulation
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving demand-driven trading environment, preferably as an embedded desk developer
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to balance diplomatic and pragmatic approaches with formal processes
- Proactive learner, capable of quickly developing an understanding of the domain and the existing solution with support and guidance from the lead functional developer
- B2+ English level
